An elaborate pair of seed-pearl earrings belonging to a larger collection acquired by The Met in 1980 is reimagined as a contemporary cultured freshwater pearl necklace featuring an eye-catching woven design. The original jewelry, now in the Museum's European Sculpture and Decorative Arts collection, dates to the late 19th century, and was possibly made in France.
