This large journal is based on Fujita Tsuguharu's woodblock print Girl with Doll from the late 1930s. We don't know if this little girl was his daughter, or was asked to pose by her parents. In 1913, Fujita Tsuguharu (Japan, 1886–1966, active France) moved from Tokyo to the Montparnasse district of Paris to establish his place in the European art world.
