This striking beaded necklace reimagines a 19th-century necklace from East Asia, now part of The Costume Institute's collection of more than 33,000 fashion objects spanning from the 15th century to the present. While the original necklace is composed of graduated turquoise beads culminating in a large teardrop pendant, our reinterpretation echoes the design with deep-blue lapis stones.
